Phpfox 1.08 has a paid membership/subscription option but many people are complaining that normal users can do as much as gold and other users with subscriptions.

we created a mod that would allow you to restrict any section of your phpfox site to a normal user. On the first site we implemented it the owner had us do it in a way that normal non paying users could view but could not post, classifieds, blogs and could not join groups.
